Oriental Furniture
Oriental Furniture is normally used as a blending piece of decor in any room. It really doesn't matter what your decor theme because an oriental design cabinet, table or curio will blend in. I have traditional decor in most rooms in my home, however, when I add an oriental piece, it adds a formal feel. Or, just a touch of elegance in the corner, or, along a wall of the room.
I also have a couple of rooms decorated in an "Asian Safari" theme. Here I blend my African Collectibles with my oriental furniture. These have become my favorite rooms because they are inviting and comfortable to guests in my home. I have a couple of friends who decorate in "Shabby Chic" and they use the Birds & Flowers design as blending pieces. It's amazing to see how comfortable this design fits in that decor theme.
It is a wonderful feeling to continue to admire a piece of furniture that you have had for many years. In my case, I have had a few pieces for over 30 years and they still make me smile when I walk by. I am so glad I invested in myself and my home furnishings when I was young and struggling that I can still enjoy the future heirloom I have today.
