Benefits of Receiving Regular Bodywork

Looking for a good investment? One with high returns?

Consider investing in your body by receiving regular bodywork sessions, and reap the cumulative benefits such as eased anxiety and depression, strengthened immunity, enhanced sleep, and reduced fatigue, to name just a few.

Whether you consider it to be pampering, rejuvenating or therapeutic or whether you choose it for a luxurious treat, stress relief or pain management, bodywork can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.

An estimated 90% of disease is related to stress. Bodywork can help you manage stress, relieve physical tensions and provide a way to achieve emotional balance.

Getting a bodywork session can do a world of good, and getting one on a regular basis can do even more! You will benefit from the cumulative effects and get an amazing return on the investment in your health and well-being.

Consider bodywork sessions as an integral part of your health and wellness plan. I would be happy to discuss with you what schedule will best meet your needs and work with your schedule. Just call me at 510.828.3441 or email me at rosie@thegiftoftouch.org.

Referrals of the Month

I have the honor and opportunity to meet a great variety of talented professionals and would like to continue to introduce them to you – each month. You can always find their info on my Links page

This month, I would like to introduce my personal trainer,
Georgia Gibbon, who I have known and worked with for several years. Georgia is ACE certified with seven years' experience both a private practice as well as at the Berkeley YMCA.

Her training specialty incorporates whole-body movement exercises which promote optimal bio-mechanics in the development of muscle tone and reduced body fat.  Georgia has a passionate commitment to the prevention of common overuse injuries and rectification of problematic life-long movement patterns.  She also offers sport's specific training and plyometrics, efficient workout for fat burning, core strength, back rehabilitation, and conditioning programs for ultra endurance training.

Georgia's clients range in age from 17 to 77. She trains competitive athletes, weight lifters, busy moms and dads, workaholics, aspiring endurance runners and cyclists.

Georgia makes housecalls and brings with her all she needs to convert any small open space in your home to your very own mind/body center.

Georgia is friendly, compassionate, motivated and extremely knowledgeable. Her athletic background includes competitive cyclocross, ultramarathon running, endurance cycling, windsurfing, yoga, pilates and snowboarding.

Please feel free to contact Georgia to learn more about how she can support your fitness goals. Her phone number is 510.301.1095 and her email is holageorgia@mac.com.

Furthermore, I would like to introduce my pilates instructor,
Jennifer Durning, who I worked with for several months. Jennifer first practiced Pilates during a successful effort to rehabilitate a lower back injury. This experience led her to undertake an intensive course of study at the Ellie Herman Studios of San Francisco and further study at The Pilates Center in Boulder. She went on to take courses in rehabilitation techniques,The Franklin Method, Anusara Yoga, Hanna Somatics, and The Alexander Technique. She is deeply committed to continuing education so that she can remain open-minded towards the many different modalities which can foster well being.  Jennifer believes that each lesson is an opportunity to not only increase strength, flexibility, and ease of movement but a chance to cultivate one's own awareness, focus, and presence.

Jennifer has taught Pilates privately and in mat classes since October 2003.  For more information about Pilates, Pilates lessons, and Pilates classes, please contact Jennifer:  jedurnican@gmail.com. Her studio is conveniently located on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley.
