Celebrate International Women's Day withNora Duke The EXTRAordinary Women

Please join us for dinner (and bring your friends and colleagues!) as we celebrate International Women's Day for 2015, with Nora Duke, President and CEO of Fortis Properties Corporation.

Our celebration of International Women's Day Dinner will be held on Monday, March 16. Registration is at 5:30 p.m., but please come early to meet and mingle. We'll sit down for dinner at 6:30—and the venue is the Comfort Inn.

Presenting Nora Duke 
As President and Chief Executive Officer of Fortis Properties, Nora Duke is responsible for the company’s two operating divisions—commercial real estate and hotels.  Fortis Properties operates in eight Canadian provinces, with a workforce of over 2,300 employees, and the portfolio includes 23 hotels, totalling 4400 rooms, operating under franchised and independent brands.

In 2010, Ms. Duke was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network and in 2013, was inducted into Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame.

Make It Happen 
This year, the theme for IWD is Make It Happen 
and encouraging effective action for IWD logo jpegadvancing and recognizing women. This has been a key goal of The EXTRAordinary Women, now entering our fourth year of presenting activities to boost leadership and career development opportunities. Our program of featuring local women who are making their marks nationally, locally, and internationally, in fields from business to political leadership to the arts, is a springboard to share practical and real world guidance. 

Where and when?

  • The Comfort Inn on Monday, March 16th 

  • Registration/Happy Hour starts at 5:30 p.m.

  • A three-course meal (with wine) will be served at 6:30 p.m.
