The price of wheat is increasing steadily leading to higher prices for food. What exactly is causing the higher prices? Factors to blame include: *A growing demand for bio fuels-prompting more farmers to grow corn in place of wheat. *Droughts in Australia and Russia have forced these countries to have a higher demand for our wheat. *Changing diets in China, India and Brazil have led to more exportation of our wheat. *The dip in the stock and housing markets have some investors turning to agriculture commodities, causing a big flux in prices.
According to the National Association of Wheat Growers, the US wheat supplies are the lowest in 60 years, so even though wheat production rose in some areas by 40% last fall, it could take years for supplies to return to normal.
Just imagine all the foods you eat, cook and bake that contain flour-bread, pasta, cereals, pizza, cookies, bagels, cakes.....and how this could effect you.
Our concern is always providing the high quality products that our customers know and love. We will do everything we can to ensure that quality without increasing our prices at this time.
Thank you for your continued business!
