Our annual benefit went off without a hitch (be sure to check out photos), we've got a special performance with Iktus Percussion this weekend, and we're raising funds for our Documerica recording. We will finish off the summer as we always do, with a residency at the Grand Canyon Music Festival. Read on for more info!

ETHEL_Benefit-111 2A Recap of ETHEL's First Annual Benefit

Our first annual benefit was a magical evening of friends, fans, music and merriment. We are still on cloud 9 and so appreciative of the love and support shared that evening. To everyone who attended and donated, we cannot thank you enough! A special thanks to guest performers guitarist Kaki King and bandoneonist J.P. Jofre, and to WNYC's John Schaefer, who served as the perfect MC. We'd also like to thank Brooklyn Brewery for beverages and SLAM for providing an amazing venue. Lastly, a big thanks to our honoree, Limor Tomer, for always being a strong amplifier of artistic vision.

Whether you attended the event or not, you can relive the evening by browsing through our Facebook or Flickr photo album.

Grand Canyon Music Festivalo-GRAND-CANYON-facebook

Since 2005, ETHEL has served as quartet-in-residence at Native American Composers Apprentice Project (NACAP), a project of the Grand Canyon Music Festival. Every year, ETHEL tours schools on Navajo and Hopi reservations in the Four Corners region to work with young Native American composers. We coach students in composing, polishing and rehearsing string quartets, which are performed at schools and youth centers. The project culminates with a concert at Grand Canyon National Park.
