Dear ETHEL fan,
It's summer time and the living is easy— and easier with ETHEL! Our annual benefit went off without a hitch (be sure to check out photos), we've got a special performance with Iktus Percussion this weekend, and we're raising funds for our Documerica recording. We will finish off the summer as we always do, with a residency at the Grand Canyon Music Festival. Read on for more info!

Our first annual benefit was a magical evening of friends, fans, music and merriment. We are still on cloud 9 and so appreciative of the love and support shared that evening. To everyone who attended and donated, we cannot thank you enough! A special thanks to guest performers guitarist Kaki King and bandoneonist J.P. Jofre, and to WNYC's John Schaefer, who served as the perfect MC. We'd also like to thank Brooklyn Brewery for beverages and SLAM for providing an amazing venue. Lastly, a big thanks to our honoree, Limor Tomer, for always being a strong amplifier of artistic vision.
Whether you attended the event or not, you can relive the evening by browsing through our Facebook or Flickr photo album.
We're excited about this weekend’s free performances at the Rite Of Summer Music Festival on NYC's Governors Island! ROS is collaborating with New York Philharmonic's Very Young Composers to present New York: Harbor to the World, an exhilarating afternoon of premieres and recent works. Composed by students and faculty members, including teaching artist-composers Justin Hines and Angelica Negron, these brand-new commissions will be performed by yours truly and the IKTUS Percussion Quartet.
Sunday, July 13, 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Colonels' Row, Governors Island
ETHEL is the resident ensemble at Metropolitan Museum's Balcony Bar in New York. It's a great opportunity to catch the quartet—or individual quartet members—up close and personal in a classic New York setting. Guest artists and collaborators also make periodic appearances.
Fridays and Saturdays, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Metropolitan Museum of Art Balcony Bar
1000 Fifth Ave New York, NY
FREE with museum admission.
