Them Boys are back - and tickets are selling fast! The Eastport Oyster Boys will reunite with co-founding member and West & Rhode Riverkeeper Jeff Holland at the Galesville Memorial Hall on Friday, March 10, from 8 to 11 p.m. in a concert to benefit the West and Rhode Rivers. $20 admission. This is sure to sell out, so get tickets now!

kayaking by the snow-capped Chesa-peaksShake off the winter doldrums and get ready for spring with the Chesapeake Paddlers Association.
Sea Kayaking 101 (SK-101) is a one-day indoor seminar being held on March 11, 2017 in West River that is focused on introducing people to the sport.

Presentations include: choosing the right kayaks and paddles,· equipment needed to start paddling, basics of safe paddling, and places to paddle in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area.

Cost is $25/person. Saturday, March 11, 20178:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. West River Center, West River, Md.

Includes a light breakfast and lunch. Advanced registration is required. Space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. Registrations must be received by March 5, 2017.

Fourth annual Ride for the Rivers May 13

Metric Century Bicycle Ride or 40-Mile Ride to benefit the West/Rhode Riverkeeper


Discover the beauty of the watersheds of the West and Rhode Rivers (as well as the Patuxent River and Herring Bay), on this challenging ride through the rolling countryside of Southern Anne Arundel County and Northern Calvert County. Proceeds help the West/Rhode Riverkeeper keep these rivers swimmable, fishable, crab-able and kayak-able. Registration Fee: $50 includes logo-emblazoned T-shirt, logo water bottle and “Muddy Bottom BBQ” celebration. More info & registration.
