The Official Monster Raving Loony Party is a registered political party established in the United Kingdom in 1983 by musician and politician David Sutch (1940–1999), better known as Screaming Lord Sutch, pictured above.
This Saturday we are taking the caption and making it our own. Instead of taking a stand against British Parliament, we're taking the term literally and throwing a "Monster Raving Loony Party".

DOM ESPIERS COTES DU RHONE BLANC
 This wine is a blend of 50% Roussanne and 50% Clairette from 0.5ha of vines planted on the sandy clay terroir in Sablet. The grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed into tank. Fermentation takes place in 3-4 year old Vosges and Allier barrels. Only 250 cases produced.

SANTENAY BLANC FREDERIC MAGNIEN
Frederic Magnien has established himself as a bona-fide star of the Cote de Nuits. Although he owns no vineyards, Frederic is a fifth-generation Morey-St.-Denis winemaker who takes great pride and commitment in selecting the growers with whom he works with and the vineyards from which he sources fruit. He works only with growers who follow his stringent guidelines about pruning, green-harvesting and deciding when to harvest, all of which leads to low-yielding, and quality fruit.
Frederic's wines seduce with deeply concentrated, lush, spicy fruits, and at the same time possess balance, length and breed - an honorable tribute to the prestigious premier and grand cru appellations he represents in his offerings. An absolutely lovely, fresh white Burgundy from one of the regions best producers - how can you resist this incredible price?

MUD HOUSE PINOT NOIR
 Without going crazy in price, this is one of the best Pinot Noirs From New Zealand. Totally concentrated and focused. Would be a natural "ringer" in a blind tasting.
IL PALEI CHIANTI CLASSICO
Villa a Sesta makes quite the Chianti Classico. Made in an unusually full bodied fashion, Il Palei makes a strong case for being the best of the modern class in this appellation. Big, soft red fruit combined with rather lively acidity makes this wine scream out for your best red sauce.

LULI MALIDEA BARBERA NEBBIOLO
 This wine is unique because it represents a wine that has never been made before. The Malidea, which means "bad idea" in Italian, is a blend of 50% Nebbiolo and 50% Barbera. When creating this wine, the winemaker at Luli was told that it would be a "bad idea" to create a blend such as this. Two incredible grape varietals together in one wine can be dangerous; both fighting for the spotlight and eventually could be a prime example of "two rights equaling a wrong". The Iuli "Maldidea", in this wine taster's opinion was "una grande idea".

HEDGES DESCENDANTS SYRAH
In 1976 Anne-Marie Liegeois said goodbye to her life in Champagne, France and left for the United States with her new husband Tom Hedges. This Syrah is an homage to both the Dupont and Liegeois sides of her family. This wine is dedicated to her grandfather Marcel Dupont, Chevalier du Tastevin and bon-vivant, lover of good food and great wines. Grown on a 15 acre vineyard, named Les Gosses, this wine displays the greatest qualities of low yield farming. Earth, fennel spice and structure, the hallmarks of a great Red Mountain Syrah, framed by classic French Oak Barrels.

TOMERO CABERNET CARLOS PULENTA
 Big but not brawny, this tailored Cabernet combines rich fruit flavors of plum and black cherry with notes of dried herbs and anise on a broad, well-defined palate of appealing depth. Tannins, fruit, acidity and oak are beautifully balanced.
MAS DE CAN BLAU RESERVA
Mas de Can Blau comes from the estate's oldest Carinena, Garnacha, and Syrah vines. It was aged for 20 months in new French oak, and bottled unfiltered. Dark ruby/purple-colored, it offers a flamboyant nose of pain grille, scorched earth, tar, and kirsch. Full-bodied with a supple texture, the wine has layers of sweet fruit, nicely integrated oak, tannin, and acidity, in its racy personality.
