Casa Batlló, Barcelona "We almost didn't go into Casa Batlló. As amazing as that might sound, Helen and I were having a terrific day of walking around Barcelona with our kids, Jordan (5) and Tamar (3) and we seriously considered skipping the chance to walk the inside of the building. What a mistake that would have been. In our defense, the outside of the building is spectacular enough that we thought I had the important shots. And with the sun shining, it seemed important to get to the next site for more pictures. And then there are our kids..." |

"Barcelona was one big photo-op" Jesse said. He and his family traveled in Spain recently and Jesse has been diligently editing pictures ever since. "Madrid is a great city," Jesse commented, pointing out that he and his entire family were fighting a stomach bug while there. "I easily spent as much time nursing a fever and rough stomach as I did out shooting," Jesse laughs. "But we still came away with some terrific images." The Ackland Museum of Art recently published a book on their well-regarded Five Faiths exhibit and used one of Jesse's photographs from his "if you find the Buddha" series on the cover. "It's great to contribute to the efforts of this terrific institution," Jesse said of the local museum that's an extension of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to gracing the cover of the Ackland's latest publication, the museum also owns a limited edition original print of the same image. You can find the book on Amazon. |
