Rock On Justin!
Justin Hines at Rock For Dimes TorontoJustin Hines, the 30-year-old, Canadian singer-songwriter, was the opening act for Toronto Rock for Dimes this year.

Hines has Larsen Syndrome, a joint dislocation and uses a wheelchair. “The reality is I don’t really look at my situation as that big a deal,” he says. “We all have things that challenge us, just some people’s are a little more visible in the forefront. Mine is very apparent, whereas others wear it on the inside.”

Justin Hines - Days to RecallHe launched his music career at the age of 14, by winning a radio contest to sing at a Toronto Raptors game.
In 2010, he was part of the first-ever Canadian Paralympic Torch Relay. To date, he has toured across Canada and the U.S., and has released four albums, and the hit single "Say What You Will".

Rock for Dimes Review
So far, eight cities have hosted their 2013 Rock for Dimes. Across the land, in cities like Vancouver, Sault Ste. Marie, and Toronto, the drum skins were beaten, the basses were strummed, the guitar strings were wired tight, and the singing was amazing.

Congratulations to Calgary for raising an astonishing $30,000. Over 300 fans were in attendance! Money raised will help benefit March of Dimes programs and services for children and adults living with a disability within the Calgary community.

Who was that Band?
OUI B Jamon

One of the performing bands this year was a group with the unique name of Oui B. Jamon. They played not only in Toronto’s event, but also in London’s.

They describe themselves as a good times party band covering all genres who will get you up dancing and keep you there!

They certainly got everyone dancing and cheering as they were the triumphant winners in the London appearance.

Is that judge... Barenaked...?
At our Toronto event on May 3, 2013, we were very fortunate to have a talented, seasoned musician as one of our esteemed judges.

Tyler Stewart at RFD Toronto 2013Ladies and gentlemen we give you... Tyler Stewart.

Tyler has been involved with music ever since he was a boy growing up in and around Toronto, but he is most notably known for being the drummer and sometimes vocalist with the iconic Canadian group, Barenaked Ladies. We are so thankful that Tyler took time out of his schedule to use his musical expertise and help judge the Toronto Rock for Dimes band battle.
