 Easy Homemade Hummus

You know what we like? A classic dish that's quick and easy to prepare, that pleases our palates every time. Sometimes it seems like hummus falls into the category of "too common to be exciting," but don't overlook this savory staple. Making your own hummus is cheap, easy, and the results are totally addicting. Try this recipe from VN contributor Patti Breitman the next time you need a simple snack.

Serves 2

What You Need:

1 16-ounce can chickpeas
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup water, or more as needed
1 tablespoon tahini
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt to taste

What You Do:

In a blender, combine all ingredients until smooth. Use as a dip for your favorite crackers, or spread on sandwiches for a delicious lunch.
