Vegan Pie Party!
Cake vs. pie, it's a dessert battle for the ages. I used to think I was strictly Team Cake, until I recently discovered an enormous affinity for pie. It can be buttery, flaky, fruity, creamy, custardy, or chocolaty—and it's almost always delicious. I know October is normally all about pumpkin pie, but I'm ready to branch out. After all, VegWeb has about a million pie recipes, and they all look divine. Now, let's all flour our cutting boards, chop up our fresh fruit, and get down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, start your ovens!

    Restaurant Rundown! Sometimes you have no control over where you eat. I've been dragged to chain restaurants, fast food shacks, and steak houses on more than one occasion.     Greatest Graham Cracker Crust
    Sometimes you can't busy yourself with making an entire pie crust. All that messy flour, tiresome kneading, precarious rolling, and darned baking—it's all too much! But when you need pie, and you need it yesterday, you're going to want an excellent crust. Why not go the easy, yet still delicious, route of a graham cracker crust? With just two ingredients and 12 minutes of your time, you'll have a buttery base for all your most delightful creations. Fill it with chocolate cheesecake or PMS pie, and float away on a cloud of deliciousness. Happy baking!

    What You Need:

    10 vegan graham crackers
    1/4 cup margarine (I use Earth Balance)

    What You Do:

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Using a rolling pin, smash all the graham crackers into tiny pieces. In a small bowl, melt margarine in microwave until it's liquid.
    2. In a medium bowl, mix margarine and graham crackers. In a pie pan, press graham cracker mixture until it forms the shape of a pie crust. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool, then start to build your perfect pie. Enjoy!
