Something about the heat of summer just calls out for sitting on your porch swing with a fan in one hand and a mint julep in the other. What? You don't have a porch swing? Neither do I. I guess I'll settle for the more realistic plan of sitting on my stoop, but I'm still going to have my mint julep (or two)! Nothing is better than getting off work while it's still light outside, having a couple friends over, and gossiping over a few drinks. Whether it's mint juleps, lemonade, or fancier juice concotions and smoothies, VegWeb has everything you need to whet your appetite for delicious summertime drinks!

Cooking with Webmistress Laura: Infused Vodkas!
Every once in a while, I get so excited about something that I have to shout it from the rooftops. Or the modern day equivalent, send it out in a newsletter! This past weekend was my boyfriend, Jonas, 30th birthday party, and I had to go all out to usher in his next decade. Even though we're in the heat of summer, I was inspired by Jonas' love of all things pumpkin to create a Pumpkin Spice Infused Vodka which we then used to create the MOST AMAZING Vegan Pumpkin Spice White Russian. You must make this and then send me a thank you note. You're welcome!
Pumpkin Spice White Russian
2 ounces Pumpkin Spice Infused Vodka1 ounce vegan coffee liquor (I used Kahlua)
Soy creamer or light coconut milk
Pour vodka and coffee liqueur over ice cubes in an old-fashioned glass. Fill with soy creamer or light coconut milk and serve.
If you feel like something more summery, don't hesitate to infuse your vodka with oranges, grapefruit, limes, mint, ginger andcthe list goes on and on. It's the perfect time of year to kick it up a notch at your summer parties with a touch of infused vodka class!
