Innovative green modular home being built inside the convention center!

Sunset Magazine will rave about it.  Design experts worldwide won’t stop talking about it.  And you can be there when history is made.  We’re just 50 short days from the 2008 West Coast Green conference in Silicon Valley – mecca for innovation and technology – and the premier of our first green roof-raising habitat built right on the tradeshow floor.

This Yet-To-Be-Named Showhouse of green certified design features 1,700 square feet of domestic bliss equipped with two stories, an outdoor kitchen, decks and landscaping, and an electric meter spinning backwards – neatly packaged in a trig 50’ x100’ feet. Zem Joaquin of ecofabulous fame is designing the interior that will leave you stunned. So this is one enormous housewarming party not to be missed!

How it happened

Nineteen architects at The Lawrence Group in St Louis (named one of the top 100 Multihousing Architects), held a competition for the most creative design incorporating shipping containers as the core, and we had the tremendous honor of selecting the winning design!

Why shipping containers?

Name it and it’s yours.

See it.  Live it.  Marvel at its advances in fetching and affordable architecture.  But think up the best name for the Showhouse, and you (or your firm) will forever be a part of it. 

If you come up with the prizewinning moniker for the Showhouse, we will honor you with a pair of complimentary full-conference passes ($1,150 value) and the following:

• Inclusion of your name (and/or firm) in the press release and media event leading up to the opening of the home
• Recognition on our website with over 2 million unique visitors annually   
• 2 invitations to the VIP Showhouse party co-hosted by ecofabulous
• One seat at our private reception with Al Gore ($2,000 value)
• And the best part…a giant group hug from the WCG staff!

Here’s how it works

• Input your best ideas by August 18th.
• We’ll pick the top submissions, and post them for everyone to vote on. Whatever name gets the most votes, wins! So you can either come up with a brilliant name, or win just by having a lot of friends.
• We will announce the winning name on September 1st.
