EVENTS

The Crucible @ De Young Museum

Young Crucible artists exhibit their art bikes
April 16 • 6-8:45PM

Join us at the de Young Museum’s popular Friday Nights with an exhibition of extraordinary art bikes created in The Crucible’s Youth Bike Program. Many people have claimed to invent the bicycle, and it has arguably been in existence since the 15th century, but taking an ordinary two-wheeled conveyance and transforming it into a mobile work of art is a relatively new form of urban American art. You’ll have a chance to meet some of the talented youth who have mastered advanced techniques that enable them to design and fabricate fabulous rides that make a statement and reflect their unique personalities.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

In the place of our annual Fire Arts Festival, this July we are pleased to present our first ever Fire Cabaret:

HEAT: A Fire Cabaret
Seduction's Flashpoint

July 15-17, 2010

Slip into a forgotten era when fire prohibition was in full effect and the frigid masses were forced underground to seek the heat. Gather in our speakeasy, where bootleg fire boils the blood and enflames the desires of all who enter. Witness the seduction of an innocent young man, unable to resist the lure of the flame.

Join us for an evening of drinking, dancing, and illicit fire with seductive performances from the denizens of Heat, a 1920’s era fire speakeasy. This will be a dress up affair, so start getting those beaded dresses and spats dusted off and plan on a hot and spicy evening.

Tickets sales and more info coming soon.
