Limoges: Enamel Painting March 13-14 • 10AM–5PM
Draw, paint, silk- screen, and airbrush on heavy-gauge enameling steel using porcelain enamel slip, screening inks, and various other materials.

Bike Mechanic Workshop March 13-14 • 10AM–4PM and March 15 • 5-8PM
In this beyond-the-basics class, you will dismantle and reassemble your bike and learn to perform a deep and complete tune-up to keep those wheels moving smoothly.

Core Vessel Forming March 20-21 • 10AM–6PM
Learn the traditional ancient Egyptian art of core vessel forming, you’ll duplicate techniques used thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt to create the first bottles.

Fearless Fire Eating March 27-28 • 3:30–5:30PM
Get up close and personal with fire (safely) and amaze family and friends with a unique skill.

Taste for Artisans — Handmade Ho Down Village

April 3, 2010 5pm - 11pm
Jack London Square

This event is a fundraiser for Drawbridge, an arts program for homeless children presented by East Bay Express and Mini Marzipan. The theme is “Urban Americana” and the event features over 75 artisans, local beer & farmers market, live bands and DJs, creamed corn wrestling, mechanical bull rides, square dancing and lots more. You can sell your wares in an awesome 30,000 square feet space with an expected 3,000 attendees. The vendor application deadline is Friday, March 12th. The vendor fee is $150.00, and you can apply at MiniMarzipan.com, or email Vendors@MiniMarzipan.com.

Jay Bridgland, The Crucible's Glass Flameworking Area Head, was recently awarded the prestigious 2010 NICHE Award for his glass necklace entitled "Modern Tribal" in the category of Jewelry: Sculpture to Wear (concept jewelry). The award was announced at the Buyers Market of American Craft in February, and recognizes Jay’s vision of contemporary art glass and concept of glass art wear. The NICHE Awards program is sponsored by NICHE magazine, the exclusive trade publication for North American retailers of American craft, to recognize outstanding creative achievements of American craft.
