It's the week before Gifty, and all through The Cru, Volunteers and staff are preparing just for you.
Booths are being built for the vendors with care,
In hopes that crowds will be shopping there.

The children are invited, of course, to take part
With visions of fireballs as they ride in on BART
The forges will be roaring, and sparks they will fly,
With demos in studios, shopping and food you can buy.

On Saturday the hyphy bikes arrive with a clatter,
Made by youngsters learning skills that really do matter.
With jewelry, sculpture, creations in glass,
There’s even a discount so you can take a class!

Take a chance on the raffle – you never know…
You might win a class, a shirt or a show.
And finally to wondering eyes will appear,
(and NOT in a sleigh, with eight tiny reindeer)

A little old driver, so lively and quick:
The Crucible’s yearly visitor – Yep, it’s St. Nick!
It’s open registration for winter courses, so he came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Blacksmithing! Now, Jewelry! Now, Stone Working and Welding!
On, Glass Work! On, Wood Work! On Neon and Enameling! To the top of the Bike shop! To the top of the Foundry!
Now dash away! Choose a class! Register Now!”

He sprang to his Crucible sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all rode like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he rolled out of sight,
"Happy Holidays to all, and to all a fiery-year!"
