The SnowCat

A True San Francisco Original: Dmitri Matheny
The Bay Area Discovery Museum is proud to present the return engagement of The SnowCat, an original music production by flugelhornist and composer Dmitri Matheny. Enjoy the heartwarming tale of a little girl's search for her wandering white cat on a chilly afternoon set in the heart of San Francisco.

First performance is this Saturday, December 15 at 11 a.m.

  • Family fun for all ages. Admission includes a free SnowCat coloring book for each child! Register online.

Congratulations to our contest winner: The SnowCat is based on the ancient Asian parable of the oxherder, in which a herdboy's quest to find his missing ox is likened to an individual's journey through life. Congratulations to the Wing Family for the correct answer - they won two tickets to the SnowCat performance of their choice!

Give a Year-end Gift

As we near the end of the year, we would like to thank you for your support and ask for a contribution toward our ongoing maintenance and improvement projects. Being an indoor/outdoor Museum demands many extra expenses, which are not covered by regular membership or admission fees.

You may earmark your gift to help fund the restoration of one of our top priorities:

  • TotSpot Waterfall
  • Lookout Cove Willow Cottage
Contributions to the Bay Area Discovery Museum Annual Fund are non-membership gifts and are fully tax-deductible. Your gift could be worth even more if your company offers a matching gift program.
