| Dia de los Muertos | |
|
The Day of the Dead is a festive holiday to honor the people who have passed on in our lives. Through November 3 in Studio 10, please bring in a photo or memento of someone in your life that you would like to honor on our community altar (ofrenda). Or just stop on in and add a marigold or skull, and talk with Discovery Guides about the meanings behind the holiday.
Dia de los Muertos Creative Exploration Workshop Come explore the Day of the Dead through an interactive story about the Calaveras (Skulls) of the holiday and create your own colorful persona. Does your skull wear a hat, dance around or parade through the museum?
Dia de los Muertos Celebration |

|
Join Museum staff and families for the 18th Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration, produced in collaboration with TRIUNFO, the Canal Welcome Center and dozens of community volunteers. The event features dozens of Día de los Muertos altars made by schools, community groups and individuals. There will be traditional food, music and art projects for all ages along with a candlelit procession through the neighborhood at 6 p.m., creating a memorable and culturally enriching experience for all. |
