Dear A2SO E-Newsletter Reader,

Several readers noticed an error in the recent e-newsletter we sent. The Kinderconcert program from last year was inadvertently added to the newsletter by mistake. Below is a complete correction for the error, and we apologize for any confusion it may have caused.

Children’s imaginations take flight through music and movement!  The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra (A2SO) sponsors free of charge, interactive concerts for kids ages two through five in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti:

  • April 25 in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Downtown Branch of the Ann Arbor District Library at 9:30 and 10:30 am.
  • May 2 at the Ypsilanti District Library, 5577 Whittaker Rd. at 10 and 11 am.

Children learn about violins with A2SO principal second violinist Barbara Sturgis-Everett and are led through dance by Gari Stein to songs played by Sturgis Everettt and pianist Kathryn Goodson.  The movements help children enjoy music in an active way that encourages learning and creativity.  Also, there will be an “instrument petting zoo” so that children have the opportunity to handle and play small violins and cellos. This concert is sponsored by the Ann Arbor District Library, the Ypsilanti District Library,  the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, TCF Bank, and the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor.

Also, our newsletter incorrectly spelled Melanie Helton's name as Melaine. We apologize to Melanie--we love you and look forward to hearing you on the 18th!
