A Picture Says A Thousand Words
Something magical happened in Portland, Oregon on Sunday May 18th. Members of the universal community, from all shades and stripes, convened to form the largest turnout for any political candidate during the 2008 campaign season. An estimated 72,000 people not only filled Tom McCall Waterfront Park, to see history in the making, they also watched from kayaks in the Willamette River, and from the adjoining Hawthorne Bridge. The energy of the day made a warm Portland day into an electric historic moment. The crowd was a true reflection of the man brining everyone together. It was a site to behold, and an amazing opportunity to experience the message of "change we've been hearing for the past 15 months. We all owe this magic moment to one man, and his movement: The magic and the movement is courtesy of Senator Barack Obama.

How to Successfully Negotiate in Writing
When you negotiate in writing, compared to face to face, do you change your negotiation style? If you don’t, you should consider doing so. After all, cues you would otherwise pick up in a face to face negotiation, you’ll miss, because you won’t be able to discern nonverbal signals and other cues you’d gather in face to face negotiating.

Turn Off the TV and Get More Done
Does TV viewing consume many of your evening hours? If so, try switching off for a week! According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day (or 28 hours/week, or 2 months of nonstop TV-watching per year). In a 65-year life, that person will have spent 9 years glued to the tube. Most Americans agree that TV can be a big time waster. For me, watching TV is a relaxing pastime which I refuse to feel guilty about.
However, I do like to be in control of my time, so I watch most of my favorite shows on DVD and VHS, which I video-tape to watch later (no, I don't use TIVO yet. I'm still in the video era!). If you spend a lot of time channel surfing and searching for something "decent" to watch, then you may be guilty of watching a little too much TV. Virtual Payment
If every American switched to receiving just one bill as an electronic statement instead of a paper one, the one-time savings would be 217,800,000 sheets- enough to completely blanket the island of Key West in a single layer of paper. Sky A Traveling Magazine March 2008 |
