With 2008 drawing to a close, we wanted to take this opportunity to say “thanks” to all
our readers. When we started the eNewsletter back in 2007, we had no idea the impact it would have on our
industry. Because of you and your interest in what we had to say, we have had another very successful year
with our eNewsletters. We don’t measure success by numbers, but by your feedback and the quality of the
articles we bring to you. As we head into 2009 and beyond, we want to hear from more of you, and we want to
know what’s important to you. While we can come up with things to talk about all year long, we want to know
what you want to read about. If there is a topic you would like to see us cover, let us know!
Starting in January 2009, we are committed to bringing you 12 monthly issues per year, on
the first Wednesday of each month. Our format will be very similar to what you are used to from Bracken
Engineering: concise articles that are on topic and objective. We know that your time is valuable, so we
will keep our articles short and focused. We also plan to add a section to address Code updates and
interpretations as well as updates from some of the societies and organizations that we are a part of.
Principal areas we intend to cover this coming year include:
- Litigation Support
- Engineering Licensure
- Storm Repair
- Building Code/Life Safety
- Construction
- Site/Premises Liability
- Catastrophe Response
- Building Envelope
- Renovation/Remodeling
- Condition Appraisal/Due Diligence
- Structural Restoration
- Demolition Support
Thanks again! We know that you are the reason we can call our eNewsletters a success. If you would like to see a specific issue covered, please send an email to editor@brackenengineering.com. We also welcome your comments; good, bad or ugly.
