Pearl

You use to be able to hit the * and flip between suretype and multitap but once you upgraded your phone or got a new Pearl you can't.  The new firmware removes this "feature" and you have to do it through the BlackBerry menu.  Hey, they didn't ask me if it was ok. :-)

How do I reboot without taking out the battery?

ALT, RIGHT SHIFT and DELETE.

• The RIGHT SHIFT key is found on the bottom right corner
• DELETE key is also on the right hand side and has the letters "DEL" on its face.

Press all the keys at the same time and your LED indicator turns red for a bit and then will reboot.

Wireless indicators

What do the indicators mean?  There is a difference when you see a 1XEV (all caps) or 1xev or EDGE (all caps) and edge.  Check it out.

Text Message Increases all around!

Rogers increases Texting prices

Direct from a bill: Effective July 15th, 2008 the rate for sending a text message from Canda to the US is changing to 25 cents from 15 cents.  Text Messaging Plans and Value Packs with Text Messaging will no longer include text messages from Canada to the US, now you will be charged the 25 cents a send.  View more here

Telus increases Texting AND charges for incoming Texts

Text messages received from another mobile phone are free to receive until July 1, 2008, at which time they will be 15¢ to receive. Please read about the other increases in the "more details" at the bottom of their site.
