Dear darci

BlackBerry News - December 2009

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

We wanted to wish everyone a very merry holiday season.  Can you believe it is December already?  Wow, it went by so fast. Also, the Vancouver Courier did a follow up article on my award for Entrepreneur of the Year.   Check it out.

During the holidays, don't forget to drive safely and if you don't already know about some great tools to help you, check out the following:

  • Drivesafe.ly - for under $15.00 this app will read you your emails and texts once your car is going a certain speed.  Very interesting.
  • iLane - you can listen to your emails, calendar appointments, etc... AND respond all hands free.

Whatever method you choose just remember to stay focused on your driving and respond to emails when you are off the road.

Be on the lookout for an email in the next month, to our past attendees, which could get you a brand new Digital Picture Frame!  We will just be asking a few short questions in a survey in order to better our service.

Happy Holidays from Swirl Solutions.

Tips and Tricks

MAC users, it is finally here!  BlackBerry finally released Desktop Manager software so you can sync your BlackBerry with your Email client.  Yes, can you believe it?  Check it out.

I made an error in last month's Newsletter and when I was telling you Microsoft tips, I said Ctrl + C is CUT.  It isn't, it is Copy.  Thanks to Ben, a sharp reader for correcting me.

Here is a great tip. To ensure you are on the best possible plan, call your Carrier, at least a few times a year.

Here is a story from Lynn Reeve, Maui Jim (Awesome sunglasses by the way!)

"Recently I called Telus and asked them to review my usage and let me know if I could be on a better plan. Turns out that I was on an old one paying $150.00 for 1500 min. My maximum minutes in the last three months was 850ish. They just released a new plan $50.00 for 1000 min. I'm saving $100.00 per month."

Moral of this story, and this goes for every Carrier "call in once in a while and see what's going on". Could, and probably will, save you some money. Keep the money in your pocket.

BlackBerry Repair

VanCell is a BlackBerry and iPhone repair shop.  Much better deal than buying new when your trackball or screen breaks.  Check it out.  Did you know a new BlackBerry, without a data plan, can cost you upwards of $700.00?
