Swirl Solutions has two great announcements! One, due to high demand, we have now set up monthly workshops in Vancouver, including the much requested Advanced Workshop. Limited seating, so register now. Next Mastering your BlackBerry 101 Workshop is March 3 @ 1-4. If you live elsewhere, stay tuned as we are working on scheduled Webinars in the Spring.
Two, Swirl Solutions will be featured for 13 segments of GetConnectedTV with Mike Abergo, AJ Vickery and Lindsay Smith. Darci will be giving BlackBerry tips and tricks so tune in to the BNN network in March and April. The first show is 5PM PST, Thursday, March 19 on BNN - Check local listings for your specific channel.
TIPS AND TRICKS Salvage your BlackBerry if you drop it in water. This is never a good thing and don't take it to the vendor and feign ignorance, there is a litmus strip and they can tell if it has been dropped in the water. The following steps might save your $600+ in replacement costs.
1. Remove any rubber covers or skins Cross your fingers and your toes and hope this worked! Q: How do you type a percent (%) symbol? A: Sym Key and P.
TRAVEL TIPS If you are a Telus or Bell client and travelling outside Canada, you should always call your carrier to make sure you have access BEFORE you go to another country. Do the following: 1. Confirm with your Carrier by dialling *611 from your BlackBerry before you travel and ask which foreign carrier to use. 2. Once at your destination, go into your BlackBerry settings:

BLACKBERRY Have you heard about 4.5 software? We get alot of questions about what are the benefits of upgrading?
Almost all carriers have the new software, except Telus. Please check here to see if new software is out for you model. (Go to the bottom for North America. ****Warning when upgrading your software*** Any time you do anything with your BlackBerry. Always back it up first with Desktop Manager. If you have any difficulties, contact Swirl Solutions for help. Don't be scared! The new software has such great features! We would really love to hear your comments! I have been using the Storm for weeks and it is a bit of a learning curve or my fingers are too big, not sure which.
