Tips of the Month 

So what about Bluetooth?  Let's make it simple for users in the BlackBerry world, it is a wireless connection between two devices,  like your BlackBerry and your wireless headset. 

But I want Bluetooth in my car! 

I went out and met the folks at Cartunes who explained a few things to me. 

1. Not every new car that has Bluetooth will work with your BlackBerry
2. If it doesn't or you have an older model, no problem, for about $550 they can setup and install your device so it will all work through your existing speakers.

The benefit: Well, if you ever have been to my training sessions, you know I am a big proponent of handsfree while driving.  This allows you to do this and well, talk to your car.  :-)

Bluetooth Tidbit 

For those wondering why the heck it is called Bluetooth, here is Wikipedia's explanation:

The name Bluetooth is derived from the cognomen of a 10th century king of Denmark, Harald Bluetooth. According to the inventors of the Bluetooth technology, Harald engaged in diplomacy which led warring parties to negotiate with each other, making Bluetooth a fitting name for their technology, which allows different devices to talk to each other. The name of the king in Danish was Harald Blåtand and the Bluetooth logo is based on the H and B runes.

Palm Lawsuit

Only in the US and it started in 2005 but still an interesting read.....

If you purchased a Treo 600 or a Treo 650 smartphone, you could be entitled to benefits under a class action settlement.
A settlement of a class action lawsuit affects you if you purchased, in the United States, a new Treo 600 or Treo 650 smartphone for your own use and not for resale. The settlement will provide either: (a) a cash rebate to any United States resident who purchased a Treo 600 or Treo 650 smartphone, experienced two or more repairs or replacements (in lieu of repair) on that device, and purchases a new Palm smartphone within a defined time period; or (b) a right of repair for hardware defects, beyond the expiration of the warranty on your Treo 600 or Treo 650, even if you did not experience two or more repairs or replacements.

If you qualify, you may send in a claim form to ask for a rebate, or a repair form to seek a repair. You can also exclude yourself from the settlement, or object. The United States District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division, authorized this notice. The Court will have a hearing to consider whether to approve the settlement, so that the benefits may be paid.
