JASP’s Annual Bonenkai at the Warhol-“Forget-the-year-gathering” bonenkai 004-L

All are invited to the Andy Warhol Museum December 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for our Annual Bonenkai. What’s a Bonenkai? It’s a forget-the-year-gathering that is traditionally celebrated by friends and colleagues in December. The gatherings are a great way to relax, catch-up, have fun, forget the old and look forward to the New Year.

warholThe newly designed lobby of the Andy Warhol Museum is a great venue for this event. Take some time to see the Morimura exhibit while there and try a JASP Bonenkai drink. Beverages will be available for purchase. More details to come in next month’s newsletter.

Reflections of an Intern by Angelique Reinintern

This summer I had the opportunity to work as an intern at the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania. My internship at the JASP enabled me to work in a close-knit environment, alongside Donna Lee (Executive Director), Katsuko (Education Outreach Coordinator) and Amy (Program Coordinator). Not only did I learn about the inner workings of how a nonprofit operates, but I also got to directly coordinate events, meet JASP members and board members, work in a professional office environment, and take on various projects to further the mission of the organization.
