Hi Everyone!
Fall is a time of many changes: the leaves change color, the time changes (don't forget to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms!), we change from summer to winter wardrobes, and our menus change to heartier foods.
Maybe it's time to make some changes in your stitching too. If you always stitch charted designs, try a painted design. If you always seem to pick florals, try a geometric. Try stitching in a different location. Try a new light, magnifier or pair of scissors. And be sure to change your needles frequently because the plating on them wears out, leaving dirty ridges on your threads. In addition, eyes of needles can become knicked, which roughs up your threads.

Melissa Shirley Trunk Show Thru October 31
Don't miss this annual trunk show from one of our top designers. Looking through Melissa's collection of stockings, pillows, ornaments, vases, houses, purses and bracelets is more like going to an art museum than to a needlepoint shop.
Melissa sent lots of new items this time. The apples, pears, and bowls of fruit are among my favorites. Stitch guides are available for some pieces, and, as always, the painting is exquisite!

Holiday Suggestion Now is a great time to start dropping not-so-subtle hints for your holiday wish list -- like Canvasback Gift Certificates. They're available in any denomination, and unlike sweaters, one size fits all!
We hope you're having a great fall and that you'll try something different in your stitching.
Well, we've got to go work on our Halloween costumes, so until next time,
