Spotlight on Our Staff
We suspect Tuesday is your favorite day of the week, because that is the day finishing arrives and is checked in by Nancy Crawford. Everyone loves to hear that special message, "Hello, this is Nancy at The Canvasback calling to tell you we have a wonderful piece of finishing ready for you to pick up."
Nancy "worked the floor" at the shop for many years before cutting back to one day a week, when she carefully checks in each piece that comes back from our finisher, prices it, puts it on the shelves or carefully packages it and sends it to you. She is an invaluable link to the needlepoint experience at The Canvasback.
An avid stitcher, like the rest of the staff, Nancy has
needlepointed a tree full of Christmas ornaments, each cuter than the
next! Then there are the many pillows, belts, standups, etc. she has stitched to decorate her home or give to family and friends.
In addition to working at The Canvasback, Nancy spends many hours volunteering at the Chicago Botanic gardens. She loves gardening and her gorgeous plantings prove it.
She and her husband Dewey are generous supporters of many local charities and organizations. They love Ravinia Festival, Chicago theater and traveling. They also have soft spots in their hearts for their very sweet Westie named Paisly.
Looking forward to seeing you at our summer classes, the Jean Smith trunk show, or just to helping you find a great new project, Sally and The Canvasback Staff
