Spotlight on Our Staff
The fabulous piece this was stitched by Lyn Dickey, who has been a Canvasback employee longer than anyone on the staff.
Lyn (short for Marilyn) loves to travel and to stitch. What a great job she did combining both in this Lucite table piece. Believe it or not, she has been to all the countries depicted!
In addition to needlepoint and travel, Lyn's other heartfelt
passions are snorkeling and music. Her travels have taken her on dives
throughout the world to observe corals and sea creatures that we
can barely imagine. She is a major donor to the Ars Viva Symphony in
Skokie, IL, a generous contributor and subscriber to Ravinia Music
Festival in Highland Park, IL and Lyric Opera Chicago.
When you are lucky enough to have Lyn wait on you (which is all too seldom these days), you have the full attention of someone with a great eye for color and an enormous enthusiasm for fellow stitchers. When you leave the shop, you just know she's helped make your project a huge success.
The Canvasback is going green! We're cutting back on our postcard mailings to reduce our carbon footprint (and costs). If someone you know is only getting our cards, encourage them to sign up for our email newsletter so they don't miss out on notices about sales, trunk shows, deadlines and new products arriving at the shop.
Signing up is easy: just go to our website (http://www.canvasback-needlepoint.com) and complete the newsletter signup form. Don't forget to confirm your signup when you receive an email at the address you gave us. This extra step may seem annoying, but it protects you from unwanted spam. You can unsubscribe from the list if you no longer wish to receive our newsletters.
Looking forward to seeing you at the summer sale!
