|CASA Holiday Party Filled With Joy!
Our annual CASA Kids Holiday Party was held on Saturday, December 9th. Over 100 children and their foster families attended this fun-filled carnival type event. The attendees enjoyed pizza, cupcakes, activities, prizes and an opportunity to "shop" for their loved ones, as well as receive a gift from Santa!
A special THANK YOU to our Friends of CASA and all of our many dedicated volunteers. We truly appreciate all of those that took time to wrap gifts, donate and volunteer at the party!
Good Luck, Darcy! CASA Will Miss You!
We must say goodbye to our longest standing Child In Need of Care Program Coordinator, Darcy Lanz. Darcy has been a devoted member of the CASA team for a little more than 15 years. It is hard to look back on the day this shy, young social worker came to us so long ago. Darcy has provided guidance and oversight for at least 259 families and 430 children during her tenure with CASA. She never uttered a complaint as she attended hundreds of court hearings and submitted countless court reports. She believes it is our duty to speak up for our children; our most precious resource. Darcy has decided to begin a new chapter in her life and has accepted a position that will allow her to widen her horizons and be closer to home with her adorable twin boys. Her last day with CASA is December 21st.
Darcy, we have grown up together. We have fought together, cried together and celebrated together for so long, and we can't imagine doing it without you. CASA is truly suffering a loss. Your resignation is a reminder that all good things in life must come to an end. You may have stopped being a colleaque, but you'll always remain our friend.
Wishing you much joy and happiness. Farewell.
Amorita and Your CASA Family

It's Simple Yet Significant -
CASA Advocacy Can Change Everything.
Too many children in the child welfare system are losing hope. These children have been abused and neglected, and now wait in a horribly overstretched foster care system; a system that is in crisis. More than 1,260 children in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties are living in foster care, up 13% from only a year ago. Shuffled from home to home, separated from siblings, frequent change of schools, lost friendships, few possessions, and no voice, these children need your help. The solution is simple and it begins with a single committed adult, a CASA volunteer.
CASA volunteers make a difference for children, one-on-one, by advocating for a clear path out of the system and into a safe, permanent home. A simple resolve with a very significant result.
Join our efforts and change the lives of abused children today. Your gift will change everything. Make your donation today!
