Come and enjoy a casual evening of fun (and competition!) to benefit the children of CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties.  Your participation will help to GivingTreebring abused children a happier childhood and brighter future.  Tickets to the event are $135 per person and may be purchased online or by mail.  Event ticket includes reserved parking.  Certified CASA volunteers may continue to purchase tickets at the $110 discounted price via phone or check.  Questions? Backpack & School Supply Drive a Big Success!!
ThaAUG2011-Backpacknks to so many individuals, businesses and families. CASA’s annual Back to School Drive was a huge success.  Over 100 children and teens received new backpacks filled with much needed supplies, giving them a new beginning at the start of this 2011 school year.

QuikTrip Donation Provides Gas Cards
for Volunteers

Many thanks to QuikTrip for supporting CASA and oAugust2011-LOGO 2ur volunteers!  Monies donated by the company will be used to reward a number of exceptional volunteers with pre-paid gas cards.  It especially allows us to help those volunteers traveling long distances to visit CASA children.  QT is proud to partner with many charitable organizations, donating 5% of its annual net profit.  Store locations are also designated as a SafePlace for at-risk youth.  Thank you QuikTrip!

Friends of CASA - A New Volunteer OpportunityFOC Logo

If you’ve considered supporting CASA’s work to protect children but couldn’t commit to becoming a child advocate, Friends of CASA may be the solution! Friends of CASA volunteers engage in child-centered activities, hospitality opportunities, outreach, and office support.  A variety of events are available including: preparing holiday gifts, throwing a party for children, birthday-in-a-box projects, support for training classes, and special event day help.  YOU choose when and how often you want to volunteer – weekly, monthly, or annually. 

To learn more about Friends of CASA, come to the Friends of CASA Soiree on Sunday, September 18th from 4 – 6 p.m.  RSVP your attendance or to request additional information, contact Lois Rice at lrice@casajwc.com or 913-715-4031.


CASA Awarded a Joint Grant

The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City has awarded CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties and our sister agency, Jackson County CASA, a joint grant for $100,000 to support our work to minimize the impact of child abuse and neglect, by ensuring that children receive needed mental and physical health services in a consistent and timely manner. We are very grateful for the Foundation’s support and for the wonderful work our CASA volunteers do so children have access to these critical services.


Cut-a-thon Benefiting CASA Kids

Salonone 19 & Spa stylists are generously donating their time and proceeds to benefit CASA’s kids!  On Sunday, September 25, Salonone 19 is hosting a cut-a-thon from 12 to 4 p.m.  Customers will receive a haircut and style for a minimum donation of $20.

A Conversation with CASA
This one-hour program FourKidsincludes information on CASA's mission and history, local child abuse statistics, the role of volunteers, and a story from an active CASA advocate.

Workshops for Parents and adults who work with children
CARE Workshops were developed for parents and caregivers of children in the community who have experienced stressful or traumatic events in their lives, children with behavior problems, or parents who want to strengthen the relationship with their child.  The goal of CARE is to strengthen the adult-child relationship and increase children’s positive behaviors.
