Hello Zumobi Community! 

We are pleased to be sending you our first “Zoom in on Zumobi” newsletter, designed to provide news and current events about what’s happening at Zumobi.  If you just can't get enough Zumobi news, check out our blog for the latest on all things Zumobi.

A new version of the Zumobi beta is now available for both Pocket PC and Smartphone.  Based on early feedback many of you shared with us, we’ve already made the following updates:

• Zumobi can now be installed on a memory card
• Tiles such as the Associated Press ones will update their content more frequently
• Smaller instillation file for faster download and install times 
• Less wait time for Tiles to load during initial run

Please take a moment to download and install the newest version of Zumobi from these links (make sure you are downloading the correct file for your phone type):

Pocket PC phones come with a stylus that you can use to touch the screen.  Also, on Pocket PC phones the Windows flag logo appears on the top left of the home screen.

Smartphones do not have a touch screen or stylus, and, on the home screen, the Windows flag logo appears on the bottom left of the home screen.

In addition to these updates to the Zumobi beta, we have also certified several new phones for optimal use including:

• AT&T Tilt
• Motorola Q9
• Samsung Blackjack II
• Samsung SCH-i730
• HP iPaq 110 classic

Keep in mind, even if your Windows Mobile 5 or 6 phone is not listed as a certified one, we still invite you to try Zumobi and share  your feedback.

Recently, many of you were tapped on the shoulder for additional feedback via an on-line survey we conducted; our sincere thanks to those of you that responded!

We’re working hard to address the needs & ideas we’re hearing from the community. 

In February we will be releasing the next version of the beta with additional improvements to the Zumobi experience.

We think you’ll be pleased to find enhanced speed and performance of Zumobi, new features to the zoom space, as well as more Tiles in our gallery from which to choose!

Our forum community is a great place to let us know what you’d like to see in the future or get assistance with issues you may be having now.
 

Throughout the beta we are frequently adding new Tiles to the Zumobi Gallery.

Calling all prospective Tile developers!

If you have experience developing for the web or other basic applications that use XML, HTML, DHTML, or Javascript, you will find the Zumobi SDK to be a very familiar development platform.  In addition to the  SDK, which you can download from our developer site, you can also download our Tile development Tutorial, sample files, and our SDK reference documents.
