Best Upland Bird or Waterfowl Episode

The award ceremony will take place in Las Vegas on Saturday night, February 2nd. Jimmy and Amanda Sites will be attending, along with SOA Chairman of the Board Wilson Burton. Just as last year, we are praying for one opportunity to share a message of Good News from the stage at this event. Approximately 1,500 will be in attendance, many of which are television producers, execs, and celebrities (and many of whom are not Christians). We don't want to appear prideful in announcing this. Rather, we see it as a potential evangelistic opportunity. Please join us in prayer about this.

REPORT on SOA "PURSUIT OF FAITH" RESOURCES

One of the leaders of the men's ministry at the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky (where Michael W. Smith filmed "Worship") called and said they are extremely excited about the new SOA "Pursuit of Faith" Resource Kit. They have been doing a wild game dinner for 8 years on a Tuesday night, pulling in almost 3,000 men (40% of this crowd have never been to church before). At this year's event coming up soon, they are going to show the 2-minute promo for the "Spiritual Outdoor Adventures" weekly class that is to start following the big event. Bass Pro Shops in Louisville is going to let them host the class in their theatre each Monday night for six weeks. Jimmy will be traveling to Louisville to make a special appearance at the final class session. The men's ministry leader said they have been waiting on a resource like this for years, one that will help them do follow-up with the attendees of the wild game supper. This church has over 18,000 members. We have heard from numerous churches across the country that are already using the Resource Kit in like manner. Please pray that lost souls will be reached!

WELCOME A NEW BROTHER IN THE LORD!

Not long after New Year's Day a guy saw Jimmy at a gas station and walked up and said, "You're that guy aren't you!" Jimmy responded, "I don't know. What guy?" "You're that guy that does that spiritual hunting show on TV!" the man said. "Yes, I'm Jimmy." The man shook Jimmy's hand like he was setting a hook on a big bass about four times, then said, "Hell man, on Christmas morning I looked in my stocking and my wife had given me your magazine and a DVD that I guess she bought at a store. Da## (edited), I didn't know spiritual stuff could be in something like that, and I read it and watched it and gave my life to Jesus. I was baptized last Sunday at my wife's church!" There's no telling how many more we never hear from. God is good!

NEW WEB SITE TO BE UNVEILED!

The weekend of February 1 should mark the unveiling of the first few pages of the new SOA web site. Our old site was good but much too slow in loading. This new site is going to be a grand slam over the upper deck! Check it out at www.SpiritualOutdoorAdventures.org. While you're on the web, do a search for "Spiritual Outdoor Adventures" and check out the resource products that are all over the web! Spiritual Outdoor Adventures Bible Under Development

Jimmy is currently editing the new Spiritual Outdoor Adventures Bible by B & H Publishing Group (Lifeway). This Bible will be available sometime around May, and will come in New Testament paperback or Leather Old and New Testament. Both will be large print (14 point). They will contain over 20 pages of full-color layout just like a magazine, and will contain testimonies from famous outdoorsmen, pro athletes, and celebrities that are believers. The paperback New Testament will be the giveaway Bible and the leather Bible is a "once-in-a-lifetime" rugged Bible for men. Again, your prayers are solicited for this important project.
