The Authentic Process Healing Institute presents
Map for Living:
Soul Energy eXchange (S.E.X.)
Saturday, May 14th
(with a free introductory event on Friday, May 13th)
This one-day workshop experience is focalized by Dr. Michael Picucci along with Barry Lipscomb and the Institute community
There is a deeply ingrained and culturally induced rift between sexual intimacy and spirituality haunting us. At its most fundamental, spirituality is the opening of the heart. From this place, sex heightens consciousness and has the ability to make us lose our sense of separateness. It is a love energy that opens a path to a higher and wider sense of self. This transcendent experience of S.E.X. becomes a healing experience itself.
One does not need to be in a relationship, or even be sexually active, to access the benefits of opening this powerfully alive vortex.
Are any of these familiar?
-
You separate concepts of intimacy, sensuality and sex in your mind.
-
Your sexuality feels compartmentalized from the rest of your being.
-
It’s difficult to discuss sex, even with a partner.
-
You lose interest in sex after dating someone for a few months.
-
It’s difficult to maintain a healthy sex life in an on-going and loving relationship.
-
You find intimate relationships to be difficult or even a mystery.
-
Sexual messages from your childhood inhibit your sexual expression.
-
Early sexual experiences were awkward; or worse, not consensual.
If any of these ring true, you may be experiencing the effects of a separation between your sexual and spiritual energies, and it is possible to dissolve this internalized schism.
You may long to experience real intimacy, present yourself without any shame, connect with others in a more meaningful way and sustain a loving relationship. These yearnings are universal and we have developed a model of holism framed in empowerment, creativity and respect for life.
Setting our sites on these desires, we embark on the journey towards holism. The approach is direct, clearing any limiting connection with our past, often without re-experiencing the associated pain, or revisiting the story. We create a grounded connection that guides us gracefully through the challenges in our lives and along the journey to the future we desire. Here, we access our own inner wisdom that helps remove the blocks and eliminate the barriers along this journey. We find ourselves on a newly anchored foundation with principles for stepping out into the unknown.
“This work is a testimony to the power of community healing. It offers a new understanding and wisdom on healing the sexual-spiritual split that is invaluable to all of us seeking healthy relationships.”
– Dr. Barbara E. Warren, Psy.D., Director at Hunter College, Public Health & Non-Profit Consultant.
During this workshop, we will redefine sex, allowing you to create new ways of experiencing the meaning and purpose of all types of lovemaking - solo or partnered. S.E.X. is about circulating energies that originate from our souls rather than just our heads or genitals. It is about uniting our longing for wholeness with connection.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I loved the experience and feel a shift in my whole outlook. I don't know how it works, but it does.” – workshop participant

Focalizing
Focalizing is a dynamic and effective process, introduced by Dr. Michael Picucci, that allows us to respectfully set aside familiar thoughts and feelings and instead access our innate intelligence. It can benefit anyone who is in a crisis of consciousness, in a state of feeling stuck, or who feels trapped by circumstances that life presents. By reconnecting us with a natural resource that conveys new perspectives, it often illuminates previously unseen possibilities for moving forward with grace. In learning how to transform overwhelming life situations we can suspend our everyday thinking mind to a timeless source of change. Focalizing allows us to develop a newly enlightened intelligence that becomes integrated into the very fabric of our being.
Authentic Process Healing Institute
Authentic Process Healing (APH) is a growth and healing curriculum – a paradigm that integrates body, mind, and spirit in the journey toward wholeness. It is deeply connected with the felt senses of the body, embracing inner wisdom to guide and heal our self-realization process. Our work is based in peer-led community where healing is grounded in authentic process which is simply the practice of being real.
Our Staged Model of Holism provides a roadmap for living by illuminating the destination and mapping the journey to get there. We connect more genuinely with ourselves through Focalizing, a technique for setting aside ordinary thinking to access our own inner wisdom. This healing method fosters a graceful release of outdated thinking, addictions and all.
We view growth, healing, creation, dissolution and renewal as ongoing, living processes. Thus, APH uses the symbol of the tree as a living map to illustrate both the journey and its ecosystem. Holism – the fruit of the tree – is a condition that extends far beyond the curative concept of having recovered from something. Instead, it is the recovery of personal wholeness and transpersonal connection. It is a feeling of being whole and complete in oneself, with the cosmos, nature, and all humanity.
“Beyond facilitating healing, Focalizing points to the real reason behind the human journey – continual expansion, maturing consciousness, and permeability to a multi-dimensional life that transcends the limits of personal history.”
