Mother's Day Tea at the

Strong House Inn

Spring is in the air and the first crocuses are showing their heads and it is not too early to begin to think of Mother's Day Tea.  So mark your calendars for May 11th at 1:00 p.m.  Reservations are required in advance, so don't delay space is limited.  This elegant four-course tea begins with salmon pate' and water crackers, then experience warm crumpets with honey and butter.  Your third course is English Tea Sandwiches and scones with jam and cream.  The fourth course is a wonderful dessert buffet.  All the while piping hot tea will be served.  Sparkling wine is also offered at $5.00 a glass garnished with a strawberry.  Enjoy a House Tour after the tea. 

Bring your mom, bring your husband, bring your friend or your whole family for a wonderful Sunday experience. ($22 per person, plus tax and gratuity)

     Mother's Day         Melt Away Cookies

1 cup butter room temperature

1/3 cup confectioners sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/8 teaspoon salt

Form into 1-inch balls, use flour to handle.  Makes 36 cookies

Refrigerate for 1 hour

Indent thumbprint

Bake 350 degrees

 15-17 minutes

Frosting: 2 tlblesp. melted butter1 cup confectioners sugar

1 tablespoon almond extract

2 teaspoon half & half

1 drop of red food coloring (to make a pale pink frosting)

Cream & ice each cookie
