Hi Valued Customer,
Recently while web surfing I read that it is illegal in Atwoodville, Connecticut to play scrabble while waiting for a politician to speak. Fortunately, here in Missouri, it is legal to play scrabble at a winery whether you are waiting for a politician to speak or not. And since the lovely month of May is upon us, I'd like to suggest just skipping the politician altogether and coming by the winery for a glass of wine and conversation with friends. A scrabble board is waiting for you here if you'd like it too!
We are busy bottling this week and after that, cleaning out the wine cellar is our next task in anticipation of a busy musical month. With all the tanks and hoses spread across the cellar right now, you'd never guess that we can turn our wine cellar into a concert hall fit for world-class musicians. The count down is on though, and I think Clyde is up to the task! Check out our events below, and let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers,
Katie

May's temperatures have been all over the thermometer lately, and I'm starting to really want summer to arrive. Whenever I get in this mood, I reach for some spicy food to heat things up. This month's recipe for Cajun Spiced Shrimp is the perfect thing for my summer cravings!
Cajun Spiced Shrimp
Ingredients:
-
2 cups uncooked small shaped pasta such as shells or rigatoni
-
2 Tbl butter
-
2 Tbl olive oil
-
3/4 cup finely diced onion
-
3 cloves chopped garlic
-
1 1/2 tsp cajun seasoning, or to taste
-
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
-
1 cup Harvest Mist
-
1 14oz can diced tomatoes, drained
-
1 pound medium-size peeled and deveined shrimp
-
1-2 cups fresh spinach
Directions:
-
Cook pasta until almost al dente; drain and set aside.
-
In a medium size skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the olive oil. Saute the onion, garlic, cajun seasoning and black pepper for 2 minutes.
-
Stir in the wine, tomatoes and the shrimp. Cook and stir until the shrimp are opaque.
-
Stir in the spinach and the not-quite al dente pasta. Simmer, covered, for a few minutes more until the pasta is cooked through to your liking.
