CNYAHEC Continues Search for New Executive Director

DSCF0783.JPGThe Central New York Area Health Education Center continues the search for a qualified individual to fill the role of CNYAHEC Executive Director.  Joanne Race Borfitz, fomer executive director, vacated the position in March.  "We were all sad to see Joanne go," says Terry Albanese, Director of Health Workforce Development.  "Thanks to Joanne's foresight and dedication and the hard work of our staff, we're poised to become
an even greater presence in the Central New York health care community."

The initial search for a new executive director began in March, and a second search was launched in May.  Richard Merchant, CEO of Northern AHEC in Canton, New York, has been serving as interim executive director.  "We hope to fill the position by July," states Merchant.  "The board is looking for someone with the right combination of qualifications who will be a good fit for the organization."  Since March, nearly one hundred applicants from across New York State have submitted their credentials for the position.
