Mocean Dance has two exciting events just around the corner!



Mocean Dance in Studio Revolved

ImageHalifax's 2nd annual Nocturne Festival is an event not to be missed!

On October 17th, Mocean and Halifax Dance will host an evening of exciting in-studio contemporary dance with performances by Mocean Dance, Kym Butler and Halifax Dance’s YOung COmpany in Studio Revolved. In this unique event, collaborating artists Kym Butler and the Halifax YOung COmpany will each occupy one of the Halifax Dance studios and Mocean Dance, a company-in-residence at Halifax Dance, will occupy two others. The public will travel from studio to studio to watch each performance, and will enjoy everything from contemporary dance to flamenco and tap. Each intimate space will reveal a different dance environment and a unique experience. A full revolution of this dance gallery will take 45 minutes and revolutions begin on the hour.

Performance times: 7pm, 8pm, 9pm

Mocean Dance presents: Quicksilver

ImageQuicksilver is sure to be a sterling celebration!

Mocean Dance will host their fifth annual fundraising gala, Quicksilver, on November 14th, 2009. The evening will include performances by the company, an enticing silent auction, light fare, great music and special guests. All proceeds will go to supporting Mocean's 2009/2010 season activities.

The stage will showcase some of Mocean’s favorite works, as well as some unforgettable surprises, created specially for the event. Guests can expect to see a sneak peek of a brand new piece, choreographed by Toronto’s Sharon Moore, to be premiered in the company’s Home Mainstage Production, March 18-20, 2010. Quicksilver will also feature Mocean’s first ever corporate dance-off between the offices of Colour and Secunda. Watch as these two companies battle it out on the stage for the glory and for the fun of it!

Mocean Dance in Creation with Sharon Moore
Mocean Dance spent three weeks in the month of September in creation with Toronto-based choreographer, Sharon Moore. The new work, a trio, will premiere in the company's Home Mainstage Production alongside choreography by Vancouver's Susan Elliot and Halifax's Cory Bowles on March 18-20, 2010.

During the month of October, you can donate Aeroplan miles directly to Mocean’s Charitable Pooling account. With your donation of Aeroplan miles, Mocean Dance can reach new heights and represent Nova Scotia on the global stage.
