You may remember that Aaron Allston was prevented from coming to Conestoga last year by a heart attack. We're glad to say he has recovered and will come this year instead!
Allston writes Star Wars novels and role-playing games, among other things. His most recent release is Outcast, Book 1 in the Fate of the Jedi series. He enjoys "reading, movies, role-playing games, and avoiding the rays of the accursed sun."
Martial Guests: TriPoint Sparring Association
Some new guests to us this year include the TriPoint Sparring Association, a group that "utilizes old forms of combat as a unorthodox form of exercise". As our Con Within a Con, they will be having ongoing demonstrations and open events...you'll just need to sign a waiver and jump in! Their weapons are designed for "safety as well as basic function" so it sounds like a great way to try out your battle moves.
Film director Albert Pyun and screen writer Cynthia Curnan will be joining us as guests as well. Pyun's first feature film, The Sword and the Sorceror, launched his career as a speculative filmmaker. His other films include Cyborg and Nemesis. With Curnan as screenwriter, Pyun is making a companion film to The Sword and the Sorceror, Tales of an Ancient Empire. The cast includes Kevin Sorbo and Val Kilmer.
Avoid the lines at the Registration table by ordering your registrations online.
Note: There is no longer a processing fee for registering online!
Your
$35 weekend badge will get you into all events except the Gala Dinner
with S.M. Sterling. The Gala Dinner is open to holders of Golden
Tickets. Golden Tickets are $55.
