Lunch and Cocktails on the Patio
With our recent beautiful weather, more and more people have been enjoying lunch the patio and cocktails during Library Hour.
We've just added some new lunch menu items, and we always offer wine specials. Library Hour features lots of delicious small plates and wine and drink specials.
We haven't planted flowers yet, and it's too early to run the fountain, but it still feels great to be outside!

Alex will soon be returning from Piemonte.
He's been cooking at Da Felicin, a wonderful restaurant in Monforte d'Alba. The Agnolotti del Plin we had there last spring were the best we've ever tasted.
We hope Alex is having a great time and that Nino Rocca, Felicin's chef, has passed along a few of his culinary secrets.

Crispy Polenta, Gorgonzola Dolcelatte, and... FIGS!
With pears out of season, we needed something sweet to go with the crispy polenta and Gorgonzola sauce that's been on our menu since the early days of the Full Moon. Alex came up with a Fig Marmelata that works beautifully. We've been serving it for a few weeks, and everyone loves it.
We're committed to seasonality, and as other fruits become available, we'll try them with this dish. Roasted Colorado peaches anyone?

Why the name Alba?
Over thirty years of traveling throughout Italy, Rick Stein became enchanted with the Piemonte region, particularly the beautiful towns and rolling hills of an area known as the Langhe.
Langhe in the local dialect means ridges, which link the many hillside vineyards, often shrouded in mist, that produce Barolo, Barbaresco, and Barbera, some of Italy’s greatest wines.
Alba, the principal town of the Langhe, is the home of Ferrero Chocolates, makers of Nutella, and the world’s most famous truffle market. This lovely medieval city, along with the surrounding area’s beautiful landscapes and warm and generous people provided the inspiration and name for our restaurant.
