Technical Advisory Committees are currently forming and will be charged with developing indicators and metrics. Please consider applying to lend your dedication and expertise.

| New Release: The Local Government Operations Protocol |
|
The ICLEI USA Board of Directors has approved version 1 of the Local Government Operation Protocol (LGOP). The product of an unprecedented collaboration between ICLEI, the California Air Resources Board, the California Climate Action Registry, and The Climate Registry, the LGOP is now the official standard for all local governments in the United States who wish to prepare and report GHG emissions.

| ICLEI Opens Southeast Regional Office in Atlanta
|
|
With 50 members in the Southeast and more joining on a regular basis, ICLEI is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Atlanta, Ga., to serve the region. Generously hosted by the City of Atlanta, the Southeast Regional Office is currently staffed by Program Associate Eli Yewdall, with a Southeast Regional Manager joining ICLEI at the end of the month.
"The ICLEI office will enable critical work on climate that needs to be undertaken in Atlanta and across the Southeast," says Mandy Schmitt, Director of Sustainability for Atlanta. "The Southeast has significant challenges and hurdles to overcome in addressing our carbon issues. ICLEI will be a key partner in addressing them.”
Our thanks to Atlanta for opening its doors to ICLEI in a region critical to climate protection and sustainability issues.
