Bunderful News!

A special thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that are leaving us this month:

LISA:
Like the true incarnation of the Bunny Goddess, you were the one who was there day and night.
You were the one who always knew what to do when one of the kids was sick, you were the ever-watchful eye who knew which bunny liked what veggies the most and had the magical touch of knowing who wanted to be whose neighbor!
You put your foot down whenever a bunny was in need and never backed down on your opinions about how our furkids had to be treated, and dare we say: you were right!
You worked wonders to save the most vulnerable and knew how to 'speak rabbit' to each one of the kids.
Lisa, we and our bunnies already miss you. We hope you will enjoy new endeavors and hop by from time to time!

JEAN:
Jean, you were our Bunny Whisperer who was the only one who could nurse Adrianna back to health and groom her patiently for hours.
You introduced the term 'Bunny Hilton' in our midst because you were so meticulous in cleaning their homes and took the time to make the wonderful hay bags that saved us a lot of trouble! It was always fun to be working with you and even in bad days, you always had a positive outlook and warm hug for whoever needed it! And hey...Maggie likes you...she just told me that she feels sorry for the occasional grunts and thumps. She, the bunz and all of us will surely miss you a lot!

POPPY:
So you re leaving us to go where?
Scotland? Are the bunnies cuter there? Don t tell us...the veggies are better!
In any case, we enjoyed having you here with us and think you were a wonderful volunteer. lots of bunny kisses and safe travels!

International Rabbit Day: September 25th

International Rabbit Day seeks to protect rabbits as pets and in the wild.
Animal rights groups and humane societies are active promoters of this special day.
Their objectives are to promote healthy, caring environments for rabbits that are raised as pets, and those living in the wild.
They also seek to stop the use of rabbit furs and the use of rabbit on restaurant menus.

Origin of International Rabbit Day:

This event appears to have originated in the UK. It's popularity quickly multiplied (like rabbits!), spreading first to Australia, and then on to the rest of the world.

Celebrate this special with your pet rabbit. Learn a little more about him and how to properly care for his needs.
We will keep you posted on any special events at RM!
