Harvard’s
Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Featured in Guide
Take a
sneak peak at Bill Fitzsimmons’ article entitled, “Share
Your Background: Colleges Value Your Experience,” which
will be featured in the inaugural College Access & Opportunity
Guide. Fitzsimmons, one of the country's most-respected
and well-known experts on undergraduate education
and financial aid, shares his insight about the unique
opportunity that underrepresented students have at
leading institutions of higher education
Fitzsimmons,
Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Harvard College
since 1986, has been an advocate for the need to
increase college access for the brightest and most
motivated students, regardless of family income.
He has helped ensure greater affordability of a Harvard
education for middle- and upper-middle-income families
through major enhancements to grant aid, the elimination
of student loans, and the removal of home equity from
financial aid calculations.
