Who’s New, Who’s Up & Who’s Out: Membership Report

In March, we didn’t induct any new members, but one joined in early April, so please set up a dance card with him. As soon as he completes his New Member Training, he’ll be put into our speaker rotation.

Our newest members:
April 2: Jeff Fenigstein

These members were up for renewal by April 1: Tom Redmond, Jeff Taylor, and Angela Warren. Jeff announced that he will be leaving – he’ll be missed.

These members were due to renew by May 1: Kay Heatherly, Mischa Purcell, John Seeley and Anita Hubbard.

Message from Our Chapter President

As of April 1st, Elaine McCarty will be assuming the responsibilities of Vice-President and Jerry Becerra will become our new Treasurer. We are very lucky to have both of them with their extensive business backgrounds, their commitment to our Chapter and their willingness to say “Yes” to stepping up mid-term to these very key roles in our Chapter. Please take a moment to consider how your role interfaces with their roles and share anything you think might make their transitions smoother.

Of course with this great news comes the sad news. Ana and Rex both came to me within the same week saying that their careers and lives outside of BNI were demanding their full attention and that they needed to step down from their duties. There’s no doubt that everyone in our Chapter deserves to have a rotation through both of these positions to fully understand the depth of the service that Rex and Ana have freely and cheerfully given over the past 6 months. Both Ana and Rex have interjected great professionalism, humanity, high standards and wisdom in their roles. I personally am very sorry they are leaving our team, as they have been wonderful common sense advisors to me and to the team at large, always considering what’s in the best interest of the Chapter. Please take a moment sometime over the next two weeks to extend your appreciation to each of them individually for their stellar contributions to our Chapter. They are leaving very large shoes to fill.

And since I have your attention I’d like to take a moment to acknowledge each and every one of you for the ways that you volunteer your time to our Chapter. I feel such confidence in our team when I reflect on how each of you approaches your respective roles week in and week out. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your commitment.

With best regards,
Kathy Olberts, President

Success Story

BNI Referral Success Story: By Betty Burr

Betty Burr of Transition Steps Coaching gave a presentation recently to BNI Embarcadero. She spotlighted a glowing testimonial from Rachel Walls of the Golden Gate Company:

“Betty has been instrumental about helping me to create growth and then plan for growth. She's taught me how to hire the right people and to manage them so that the Golden Gate Company maintains the level of quality its been known for. She's been a huge part of turning my company from a sole proprietorship into an actual company! Thanks to Betty, the Golden Gate Company is on target to do a million dollars worth of business by the end of next year.”
