Who’s New, Who’s Up & Who’s Out: Membership Report

In November, we inducted two new members, as shown below. They’re both very interesting members who transferred into our chapter, so they’re already great at referrals! Be sure to set up a dance card with them soon, especially if they’re part of your Power Team. Since they’ve already been through MSP, they can be scheduled to speak soon.

Our newest members:
November 12: Lanie Eicher, Internet Marketplace; November 19, Dana Friedrich, Edgy Veggie Catering/Private Chef.

These members renewed by December 1:
Andy Foster, John Kalin and Michael Heylin (for two years).

These members are due to renew by January 1:
Ray Simon and Daniel Kim.

These members chose not to renew and have dropped out:
Pamela Rosin and Jeff Fenigstein.

Feature Story:
How To Make Green By Selling Green
A BNI Success Story
By Daniel Kim, BNI Embarcadero

THE PROBLEM
“I was introduced to the Jewish Community Center on California Street through Colleen O’Connor as a BNI referral. They had a long-term lease with Xerox for 11 copiers/printers throughout the building that was about to expire. Of the 11 machines, only two were multi-functional. The client was dissatisfied with Xerox because of an expensive pricing structure and reliability issues. Most importantly, the JCC was requesting bids on products that were very environmentally friendly.”

THE SOLUTION
“The Kyocera Line from Japan that I represent at KBA Docusys is very ‘green’.” The proposal that I presented was for 11 different machines –– and every one was multi-functional: some could copy, print and scan. Some could do these functions as well as fax. My proposal went through floors of approval, from the CFO to the CEO to the Board of Directors. The JCC approved my estimate because we had the best price, the greenest products, and the most flexibility in our product options.”

THE BENEFIT
“They clients love these Kyocera environmentally friendly machines. They couldn’t be happier. They’re getting more features and functions now than ever before. And they’re saving money.”

“I closed a five-year contract for the 11 machines and the client will have a lot of flexibility to change the equipment around at any point in time they wish, without penalty. It’s a win/win all around.”

Upcoming BNI Embarcadero Meetings
We will NOT be having meetings on Wed., December 24 or Wed., December 31. Happy holidays and enjoy the extra sleep you’ll be getting on these two days when we would normally meet!

Holiday Party:
Our annual holiday bash was held on December 5th! It was potluck with BNI Embarcadero generously paying for the drinks AND the gallery rental. A splendid time was had by all. A thousand thanks to Katherine Bernitt for all of her help to decorate the gallery in a festive setting, to Cathy Cohn for coordinating the food and beverages, and to Dan Joraanstad for organizing and keeping the energy going during the White Elephant exchange.
