Here's a throw back video made in 2004 highlighting the need to get out the vote. Battleground went on to win festival awards and travel the country. In the spirit of civic engagement by going to the polls and voting, this is TCYMN's featured video.

“Young people are among the more vulnerable members of our society, and they are also among the least heard. Youth media in an election year gives young people the opportunity to weigh in on the very real issues and policies that affect them—providing that editors and the audience listen. (Kelly Nuxol)”
This next section is dedicated to resources created by civically engaged youth and youth allies from around the country. Whether you can vote or not, you have a voice. Inform yourself, voice your opinions, tell your story!

The Pay it Forward Foundation offers students the opportunity to identify what they consider to be the challenges of their communities. They tackle such problems as homelessness, pollution, youth violence, literacy issues, the loneliness experienced by long-term hospital and nursing home patients, and the alienation of today's at-risk youth from the community. The Pay It Forward Foundation provides seed money for such worthwhile projects.
Your school, church or community youth group may apply for this $500 mini-grant to fund a one time project with a Pay It Forward focus. Applications will be accepted anytime by email to grants@payitforwardfoundation.com.
