A guy was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket.

The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for a week." The guy took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to his pocket.

The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you and do anything you want." Again the guy took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket.

Finally the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you for a week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?" The guy said, "Listen, I'm a software engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is cool."

Conflicker Set To Strike: Protect Yourself With These Tips and Tools
Security watchdogs warn that millions could be affected by the Conficker worm tomorrow - unfortunately this is not in an April Fool's Day joke. Over nine million PCs are already infected and a new variant of the virus could threaten those who didn't patch their PCs with the latest security updates.

Symantec warns that on April 1st Conficker "will simply start taking more steps to protect itself." After tomorrow, machines infected with the new "C strain" of Conficker may not be able to get security updates or patches from Microsoft and other security products vendors, says the company. Known also as Downadup or Kido, Conficker is a worm whose purpose security researchers couldn't decipher yet.

I Just Bought Your Hard Drive
One year ago, Hank Gerbus had his hard drive replaced at a Best Buy store in Cincinnati. Six months ago, he received one of the most disturbing phone calls of his life.

"Mr. Gerbus," Gerbus recalls a stranger named Ed telling him. "I just bought your hard drive in Chicago."

Gerbus, a 77-year-old retiree, was alarmed. He knew the old hard drive was loaded with his personal information -- his Social Security number, account numbers and details of his retirement investments. But that's not all. The computer also included data on his wife, Roma, and their children and grandchildren, including some of their Social Security numbers.

Lenovo is out to prove the desktop isn't dead with the IdeaCentre A600, an all-in-one desktop it will pull the curtain off of at CES.

The sleek desktop offers a 21.5-inch frameless screen, which is 1.06 inches thin. For entertainment enthusiasts, it offers a high-definition 16:9 aspect ratio screen for cinema-like viewing and support for 1920x1080 full HD resolution. The integrated speaker system includes a booming bass sub-woofer and Dolby Home Theatre audio certification. The addition of an optional Blu-ray player completes the package.

Users can use the digital TV tuner for watching and recording television programs and users can include Microsoft Vista Media Center for TV recording and navigation between video, music and TV.

No Joke, VARs Expect Growth

Talk about strange coincidences. On the day we were poring over data from hundreds of VARs who had answered a survey about their 2009 growth plans, a sizable solution provider left me a message saying he was closing his doors.
