Current TV
If anyone can feel good about loosing, it's Al Gore. The former vice-president lost his bid for the oval office and ended up winning the Nobel Peace Prize, an Oscar and an Emmy for pursuing his passion. It doesn't get any better than that. In addition to raising awareness about global warming by taking "An Inconvenient Truth" around the world, Al has found the time to start an independent media company with business partner Joel Hyatt called Current TV. But, what makes Current TV worth watching is that YOU make the news, not a group of fogies deciding what you want to see. Current TV broadcasts user-generated video content uploaded to its site by VC^2 producers (that would be you) on almost any subject. The coolest thing is that registered users vote for stories that are aired on TV and online.  Users can also create advertisements to promote topics and videos on the site. So in addition to saving the planet,
Al Gore
has now given every human being the chance to be on TV and report on issues they care about.  Is there a law against running for President after you've won an Emmy? If not, we say Gore'08. Tell Al Gore what inspires you, vote for your favorite story, and become a reporter by checking out Current TV today.

The Green Book

Meet Elizabeth Rogers and Thomas Kostigen, authors of The Green Book, a handy guide to how you can make simple changes in daily habits that will help save our planet. You might be surprised at how common and effortless some of these tips are. Things like how not asking for ATM receipts can save a roll of paper long enough to wrap around the world 15 times, or how getting voice-mail for your phone instead using of an answering machine could help save around two billion kilowatt hours -- a reduction in air pollution that would equal removing 250,000 cars from the road for one year. The Green Book makes saving the world practical and easy, includes anecdotes from celebrities, and it's only $8.88. Watch Elizabeth and Thomas tell you what inspired them to write The Green Book, and in honor of Earth Week, order your copy today.
