Updates/Reminders

CANCELLATIONS OF OVERNIGHT AND LIVE-IN SERVICE
We have very limited availability for overnights and live-in service. If you’ve booked an overnight or live-in care, it is likely that we had to turn away other clients that wanted service during the same time you scheduled. Consequently, if you cancel within 7 days of your overnight or live-in service starting, you will be required to pay for the entire time you had reserved.

DAY OF RETURN
We now require that a specific time of return be given to us when you book your service. This goes hand in hand with our policy that you call once you get home, no matter what time it is. Up to this point, we haven’t enforced that policy, but we feel it is a necessity to verify you have returned safely as scheduled and that your pets are taken care of. If we don’t receive a call by your given ETA, we will try to contact you. If we can’t reach you, we will continue service as normally scheduled until we are notified of your return.

LATE BOOKING FEE
Summer is just around the corner and we are getting very busy. On weekends, we are averaging 10-15 visits per day. Due to the number of last minute requests we have been getting, we are now charging a late booking fee of $10.00.

Established Clients with keys on file: 2 day notice prior to first visit needed
Established Clients without keys on file: 4 days notice to allow time for us to pick up the keys
New Clients: 7 days notice to allow time for initial consultation

PAYMENT
Payment is due immediately upon receipt of invoice. You may send a check or money order to the address on your invoice or pay online with a credit card using the PayPal link found on our website.

VISITORS
Please notify us if others (maids, friends, family members, etc.) will have access to your home during your absence. You should also notify anyone with access to the home that you are using our services. As stated in our Terms and Conditions page of the contract you filled out, "If anyone else has access to your home while the job is being performed we can assume no liability for any damages or losses to your home or pet." We are completely indemnified for any and all liability stemming from the act(s) or failure to act of third parties, whether known or unknown, including but not limited to, friends, neighbors, relatives or other service persons, that shall enter your residence for any purpose while we are caring for your pets.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this. We appreciate your continued cooperation as our business thrives.

Cats Combat Cardiac Arrest?

Image

Cat owners are rewarded with healthier hearts, at least that’s the way it appears. Researchers at the University of Minnesota’s Stroke Research Center studied data from 4,435 people ranging in age from 30 to 70 years old. Study results showed that over a 20-year period, participants who had never owned a cat were 40 percent more likely to die from a heart attack and 30 percent more likely to die from any kind of cardiovascular disease.

Watch What We Feed Our Lawns

According to the ASPCA, more than 40% of the calls received by their Animal Poison Control Center are regarding pets being exposed to lawn and household chemicals. So how do we keep our pets safe? Start with the fertilizer we use. For example, shells derived from cocoa beans are often used as lawn fertilizer or garden mulch but can be harmful to dogs if consumed. Affected dogs may develop theobromine toxicosis, which can result in ailments ranging from gastrointestinal upset to seizures. So be careful what you give your lawn; you might be giving it to your pet as well.

Interested In Getting A Discount On Pet Care?
Of course you are! We're hoping to get help advertising our business and in return, you'll pay less for your pet sitting. If you're willing to drive around with a 17.3" x 11.25" car magnet on your vehicle, we will give you an automatic 10% discount on any service you book while doing so. Between both of our cars, we have 5 magnets currently being seen but the more the better!

Since we already offer a $15.00 referral credit, you have yet another savings opportunity. Let's say we have 6 clients with one magnet each and during the month of May we get 12 new clients that say they saw our business on a car magnet. Because we can't be sure which vehicles were seen, we will multiply the number of new clients referred by the magnets by $15.00 and divide that total by the number of clients driving around with the magnets.

Using the example above, 12 x $15.00 = $180.00/6 = $30.00. Therefore, each client that is promoting our business through the use of the magnets will get their 10% off, plus a $30.00 credit on their account.

Ideally, the magnets will be seen the best on the back of a truck or SUV, but they will work on the car doors as well. Also, you can return the magnet to us at anytime without losing the credit you've earned.

If you'd like to participate, please let us know as soon as possible so we can order more magnets. The magnets will look just like this:
