Used Boat Sale!!
Now is the time to buy. We have marked several canoes and at least one kayak (the blue sit-in pictured above) for sale. Most of our boats are sold after a few years of service due to general wear and tear and occasionally an unexpected crack.
Most of our used canoes are Old Town Discovery plastic canoes. They are three layers thick and generally start to wear through the outermost layer when we sell them. Depending on repairs needed or already done, the used prices range from $250-350.
We do have one aluminum canoe and the blue kayak mentioned above. We are selling the aluminum canoe for $300. We will be selling the kayak, an Old Town Loon, for $250.
If you are interested, please e-mail or call us. We can e-mail some better pictures. All of our used boats are still in service until the day they sale. You are more than welcome to take one on a trip. If you then purchase the boat, we will apply the rental price minus the shuttle towards the asking price.

Gustav: Big Time  Here is a picture of a local Brooklyn fisherman and his catch of the day. This catfish was caught on a "limb line" while the creek was flooded in the days after Hurricane Gustav passed through the area.
Many of the locals like to fish the stream with limb and trot lines while the water is out of the banks. We do not rent to customers while the water is at these levels due to safety, but older fishermen will tell you that the catfish in streams like these explore new feeding areas during these high waters.
While the fish was never officially weighed, most of the local folks estimated the weight between 30-40 pounds. Whatever the fish weighed, we will be putting its picture up on the wall for all to see. It is not often that you catch one on Black Creek even close to its size.
We hope that all of our customers fared well through Gustav as well as Ike. If you had substantial damage, our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
